It was impossible to insert the paper tape. The inside paper slot is badly designed, it is nearly invisible, the paper is too soft to be pushed into the slot, and there is no room for your fingers to guide the paper tape. Had to return product.

I ordered this calculator about 3 months ago. It is so nice looking and I loved the color. After a month of use, the calculator is terrible. Where the decimal point should be is a comma. Where the comma should be is the decimal point IN EVERYTHING. I contacted Monroe by e-mail and they have totally ignored me. No, I would definitely NOT recommend this calculator.

My old reliable Royal printing desktop calculator went out after 25+ years. First I tried a Victor Financial Printing Calculator because of all the features, only to find the paper keeps coming off the poorly designed paper holder when I tipped the machine on it's side to see where to feed in the paper. Then I discovered (the hard way) the paper guides didn't work right. Since I don't look at the machine when entering in a long list of numbers, I looked up to find the machine jammed so badly we had to send it back. I then tried a new Adler/Royal printing desktop calculator only to discover the numeric keys were now a size that would better fit a child's hand, not a man's or larger woman's hand such as mine. I couldn't keep from hitting the wrong keys as they were just too small and close together for my hand. I sent that back as well. Then I ordered the Monroe ULTIMATE Desktop 12 Digits Print/Display Calculator and prayed it would have keys big enough for my fingers and a better paper... Read more

Bear in mind this calculator is set-up to do tax work and currency conversions. Nice features if you need them, otherwise, there may be a cheaper alternative, but this one was a great price.

** Note: Amazon have corrected this product's description to exclude the missing features I complained about in my original review **
The product should have these features advertised in Amazon's product description (a) 400 dpi resolution with 64 shades of gray (b) Powered by rechargeable battery pack and (c) Works with IrDA devices. But the print head is a rotating drum of fixed characters and can't print dots nor gray, it works off a power cube and x4 penlight batteries but does not have an internal rechargeable battery and worst of all, for me, it doesn't have an IrDA port. I can't beam printouts to it from my Treo. Not important to me, but others might need the parallel interface to a PC, it doesn't have one of those either.
Amazon quickly sent a replacement when I complained about the missing features -- but it was the same product with all the same missing features. I had to call their unpublished "Amazon" "Customer Service" "number" (Google it) to get... Read more
